Tammy Allen Tammy Allen’s CD Wonderful To Be is a collection of original compositions full of Latin rhythms and funky grooves. Lyrically her songs reflect her deep love for life, music and the human condition. Influenced by a multitude of artists and genres from world music, funk and soul to the great jazz vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Horn, Nina Simone and Phylis Hyman, Tammy’s music is a unique blend of many styles with lots of improvisation thrown into the mix. In addition to performing and recording, Tammy also owns and operates a music education business, Big House Studios, where she provides young wannabes with instruction in voice training and artist development.

Atlanta Jazz Festival The Atlanta Jazz Festival is regarded as one of the Country's largest free jazz festivals and according to Mayor Shirley Franklin "The festival was formed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our city and has blossomed into a celebration of our nation's contribution to human expression. Music heals. It reaches deep within the human soul and soothes and nourishes the empty hearted and cultivates the spirit of community that surges through the City of Atlanta. Adams Township Adams Township is a 5 piece Jazz-Funk Fusion band. The current lineup fuses disparate elements of jazz and plays the eastern seaboard in search of opened-minded audiences to spread the sounds of modern jazz fusion. "Adams Township has chops to spare, using their formal training, the instrumental quintet jettisons into free-form exploration from the finessed base, gliding gracefully on a wave of breathing, open-ended grooves." Jaspects Sons of the illustrious Morehouse College, drawing from their influences in jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and gospel music, Jaspects’ sole purpose is to distinctively enhance jazz music, while at the same time attempting to create the blueprint for music that can be truly appreciated by both the common music aficionado, as well as the most educated music theorist. The group has performed for the likes of Yolanda Adams, Ted Turner, and even the ultimate jazz lover himself, Bill Cosby. In fact, after performing for Dr. Cosby, the band was asked to perform during the Ray Charles Tribute held in Beverly Hills. Jaspects has two independent CD releases, In House Sessions and Broadcasting the Definition.
William Herriott The song “Mangy Joe” is one of a collection of songs that describe the sights, sounds and emotions inspired by the season of autumn. Mangy Joe is a personality whose life and /or legend were debated for years in south Florida. This song is a tribute to him and the many other Mangy Joes of the world. William’s musical life was changed in 1988 when HBO aired a human rights concert tour featuring Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman, Bruce Springstien and Sting, as it was here that he realized the power of a message when set to music. William went on to study music at Florida A&M University and now continues to compose music based on ideas that he enjoys while including other musical influences, in particular, jazz.
International Groove Conspiracy International Groove Conspiracy are two-time winners of The Future of Jazz competitions. When you listen to “Timbeao”, you will know why. This composition combines elements of Afro-Cuban music with funk and hard-bop. The group is made up of three musicians from three different parts of the globe that have combined their cultures and love for music to form a very unique offering. International Groove Conspiracy is: Composer/Pianist, José García, native of Venezuela; American-born bassist, Matt Stallard; and Emrah Kotan, percussionist from Turkey. They have just released their debut record, Beyond Horizon, an exciting mix of Latin Jazz, Funk and World Music.
Organized Time Playing a mixture of jazz, blues, funk, and Latin music, Organized Time sets out to make you tap your toes and groove!
The group's debut CD Photograph features original compositions by Matthew Kaminski and Micah Cadwell and brings the Hammond B3 Organ Trio sound to modern day jazz.
Atlanta's own Organized Time features prominent melodies and well-developed time changes.
Ramon Pooser Born in Brooklyn, NY, Ramon Pooser started on violin at age eight, switching to bass at age 10. By the time he was in high school, Pooser became immersed in music theatre, classical music and jazz. He later received a scholarship to study with Tom Thoreson of the Atlanta Symphony, and went on to per-form with the Atlanta Youth Symphony.
In college, he studied at Berklee in Boston and performed with a wide variety of artists, such as Greg Osby, Jeff Watts, and Rob Brown. In addition to a busy performance schedule, Pooser is currently a visiting professor at Emory University and is writing a bass method book, complete with various writings from his 30 years of experience.
Will Scruggs Jazz Fellowship The Will Scruggs Jazz Fellowship, winners of the Future of Jazz Competition in the Fall 2005, are quickly becoming one of the most popular jazz groups in Atlanta. Will began playing saxophone at age eight and has earned many accolades since – “Most Outstanding Member of the Enloe High School Jazz Band”, “First Chair Baritone Sax in the Honor Band of America”, “Top College Jazz Musician in Alabama and Georgia”, to name a few. In addition to leading the Jazz Fellowship, Will is working on a Masters Degree in Jazz Studies at Georgia State University. Always offering an uplifting message, the band performs five nights a week up and down the East Coast. Their self-titled record has received national airplay and features five original tunes.
Jeff Andrew Simpson Performing a diverse selection of jazz tunes that will appeal to the die hard jazz fan as well as to the new listener, the Jeff Andrew Simpson Group features some of the finest jazz musicians the city of Atlanta has to offer. Creating a sound both energetic and moving, the group consists of seasoned veterans of the jazz scene here in Atlanta and who also play regularly with performers on the national stage.
The group's performance will feature fresh originals in the Swing, Latin, and Contemporary styles from In a Midnight Moon, their new CD which is receiving critical acclaim and airplay across the country.
Solid State A mixture of high-energy groove with introspective moods, cool changes, interesting melodies and intricate rhythms, Solid State is a coalition of some of Atlanta's hottest players performing all original jazz music.
The founding members of Solid State have been playing together for over 30 years, and many of their songs have been played on the Weather Channel and CNN.
Solid State has also performed at the Montreaux Festival, Atlanta Arts Festival and the Inman Park Festival.
Squat Now in its 12th year, Squat is a jazz quartet based in Atlanta and Athens GA. A four time winner of Best Jazz Band at the Athens Music Awards, Squat has shared the stage with Maceo Parker; the B-52s; Medeski, Martin, and Wood; Maynard Ferguson; the Derek Trucks Band; and Charlie Hunter. Squat has toured throughout the Southeast and has been a featured performer at the Atlanta Jazz Festival, the Athens Jazz Festival, Bel Chere and the Cherry Blossom Festival. Musically, Squat plays an eclectic mix of high energy original jazz inspired by 60’s era Blue Note, jump blues, gospel, salsa, samba, bossa, reggae, and electronic music. In the fall of 2006, Squat will release its sixth independent CD release.
Christian Tamburr The Christian Tamburr Quartet is a high energy jazz quartet featuring highly melodic original compositions as well as catchy groove-based standards. Lead by Christian Tamburr, this quartet tours worldwide performing at a variety of venues. Inspired by the sounds of Lionel Hampton, Milt Jackson, Cal Tjader amongst others, the Christian Tamburr Quartet gives the listener a sense of recognizable yet fresh sounding melodies. “Pagent”, the tune on this compilation starts with almost a New Orleans street beat groove and evolves into a hard swinging solo section. “I love the tension that the whole band creates as each new soloist comes to play - the use of dynamics and intensity is what makes this song so special.” (Christian Tamburr)
Ede Wright Guitarist, composer, producer, songwriter, Ede Wright has become the first call session guitarist for many of the top producers in the Atlanta music scene including Dent, Phil Tan, Shek?spear, Avery Johnson, Trevon Potts and Shaggy.
His ability to move in and out of virtually any musical style from Hip Hop, House, Jazz, Bossa Nova, Country, Rock, Latin or Asian has made him the "go-to-guy" for a broadening range of innovative and influential artists.
After briefly attending the University of South Florida on a music scholarship, Wright was in so much demand that he left school to tour before moving to Atlanta in 1989.
